This is the first week in ages I haven’t got out on the water, though in fairness I had so much left to do for Boards mag that was a blessing in disguise, plus that allows me to use a few pictures that didn’t make the magazine earlier in the year and show our designer taking his first steps on a windsurfer.
Living in London with out a car windsurfing has to be low on the easy option list, or that what I thought until Liam decided he wanted to do more than give boards its look but give it a go.
It turns out that Queen Mary was only a short walk from the tube and with their school and storage there’s no need to worry about transporting any equipment. With everyone well powered on the lake I didn’t expect Liam had much of a chance but a quick ride to the other side of the lake in a rib put him in calmer waters where he not only got on well but got that first addictive fix.
As for everyone else, well I think a few powered up pictures tell the story, that ended in smiles all around.
