The Truman Show

06/06/2011

Trying to get Shaun away from his home patch seems almost impossible but after giving him a new passport and a ticket to ride he might be able to lose his nickname of "the Truman show". For his 30th birthday I gave him a new passport and boarding tickets for a trip in the van, so why did we pick the worst weather in the last three months.

With the last weekends being blue skies and howling winds it was time to use one of those travel tickets. chippy Dave, Matt, Lara and myself just active kit and took to the road In the direction of Kent. I guess the dark clouds of mourning should have been a clear indicator of what we were going to get.

We hadn't been in Sandwich Bay for more than half an hour before the heavens opened and to be honest that never really changed despite calling in at Minnis Bay the isle of Sheppey. I'm not saying we didn't go sailing or wasn't fun, just too bloody wet.

I'd never make it as a successful travel company, I've already refunded his ticket to ensure this rainy day hasn't put him off, hopefully there's more road trips to be had but next time we'll take a little sunshine with us.
