I’m sure there must but be a few twisted minds at the met office, no matter how many weather sites I scan I can never find one that delivers on its promises. Sure we all have our favourite and will come up with endless examples to justify its number one spot in our browser. Right now mine is windfinder.com and yes it performed impeccably during the Driven By Wind speed event, but…
Trying to find a forecast to arrange a couple of home grounds seems impossible, I need a three-day forecast to ensure we get a real feel for the place. Everything looked good for a revisit to Troon in Scotland, as twenty-three years is probably too long but the last time I was there money clouded my memories.
Every drop of cash went in the fuel tank and it was a lot further than I’d thought so by the time I’d got there the wallet was empty and while I hate to admit it I had to hang around with anyone who’d splash out for an extra cup of tea in the café. Well lets be honest we could all do with more but with Ryanair offering flights as little as £25 there should be plenty left over for tea.
What are they one, the people at Ryanair must have the sick mindset as the met office as there £25 offering ended up with another nought on the end and I only took me camera kit and to make matters worse windfinder decided it would dramatically change the forecast as I sat on the plane and by the time I stepped off at the other end the havens had opened.
I’ll be honest I thought the trip was over before it had began but I couldn’t help smiling when Scotty picked me up and said “lets grab a cup of tea at my place” my memories of Troon suddenly that clouded memory cleared just as the sky did, what can I say but thanks to everyone for a great few days.
