The mast mount is finally finished and with Guy Cribb racing the Extreme 40’s on the Isle of Wight it could have proved an ideal opportunity to try it out. We’ll its not often that something breaks me but the forecast changed to ensure there was no wind for the allotted race time, yet enough to ensure I was frustrated when stuck on the shore with nothing to shoot or sail.

A bad decision 48 hours earlier ensured I wasted my both days on the south coast, I hardly ever make a last minute change but looking at the forecast at 1:30 am it made so much sence to delay my trip, I’ll be sticking to the plan from now on but then planning anything around our forecast seems to be impossible lately.

I’d put the van in for its M.O.T for Friday as that looked like a calm one, bloody thing failed on a small pipe which couldn’t be replaced until Monday and with everything rigged it looked like a light wind kite was the go. Not complaining about getting more than I bargained for but I’d rather be windsurfing once the wind kicks in; at least I was on the water.

Hopefully I’ll get time to put some video together from the mast mount but putting the mount on the scales showed it to be lighter than the camera, so you’ll be able to sail with it all day and forget its there. I only used it with the forward facing fixing as it rotates with the sail to capture all of your days sailing but there are extra positions on the side to give it more options.
