The magazine doesn’t stop but guess I could also be accused of running away, or at least keeping busy. In fairness I didn’t arrange everything, Jason and Levi dropped into the UK the end their European tour, though I was expecting a trip to Cornwall rather than spending a few hours in Southend with Wet ‘n’ Dry before heading into London for a few drinks.
Boy oh boy, did I get a few fantastic quotes on my Dictaphone the next day, all I need to work out is, do we print them. I’ve got a little time to contemplate that one but one things for sure my next few days will make the mag.
I dropped in of a few different groups of kids windsurfing before heading over to Aberdovey in Wales for the BSA Slalom and a RedBull style-racing incident. Matt Pearch and Guy Cribb had a coming together as the two lead the race, unlike the F1 collision Matt went on to win while Guy was left to sort out the carnage.
Now that might have raised a smile on the beach but nothing that compared to meeting our next generation of windsurfers. Maybe it was the timing but for me it was the lift I needed, you just can’t help but get that good time feeling when you see how much energy and enthusiasm they have… maybe we should send a youth squad out to South Africa.
