Its only a Picture

26/02/2010

With my son turning 13 next week he wanted to have a few pictures with his mates at the local indoor skate park, my lucky day you’d think. Not much come easier than taking kids full of Kodak courage, point the camera at a ramp and the rest will take care of its self. How wrong can you be, if I ever collect all the necessary signatures to get me in he’ll be 21.

Having assumed I’d have a few pix from there I’d left camera at home the rest of the week, we’ll lets be honest daily life at the white household isn’t earth shattering, having kids ensures me I’m aware of that “whatever!” and “dad your boring” sound a little to familiar for comfort.

This thing at Boards just may have finally offered a glimmer of light. The kids and particularly Aaron have taken an interest in the design process of the mag and go through the mag dishing our choice of picture or suggesting another, Aaron picked the kids cover a few months ago so blame him for that one.

Aaron come home this week spouting about some record from “Ripleys Believe it or Not” and the biggest wave at Jaws, it wasn’t he that found it but it had caught the imagination of the class. Having seen the proofs on my desktop he was quick to point out that kids his age have windsurfed it.

Now the ball is in my court, obviously no one believed him so his credibility lies in my hands. The kids at Jaws is just too good to pull form the mag so I can’t have the last laugh and despite what Aaron thinks I’m not that cruel.

So if all the pix seem disconnected from my week I’m sorry but when I was told I would need a signature from a parent for every kid that uses the park I know history would have to come to my aid, and what about the dog. Without wind exercise comes in two forms, the gym and walking the dog and lets be honest I thought you’d prefer a picture of him than me in lycra.
