After a wintery break here’s the second half of my 2009 gallery and there’s a few pix in there that tell what my new year will be about. I’ve talked about my surprise about being asked to join the Boards team but add the change to Factory Media and I couldn’t want a better start, this really is new year, new start.
I’ll confess this writing lark doesn’t come naturally, these words here I find hard enough but with only my family reading them there isn’t much pressure, going into print is a whole other story. Though I should have started this years ago as it’s a perfect example to my kids why you should work harder at school, as a few extra hours there would have saved me days now.
Sailing in the UK will definitely be the focus of my year and if there’s anyone out there would like to help me out with my Home Ground series then please get in touch. UK events will give me another excuse to get out of Essex, but I have to confess that I have one trip I can hardly wait for, can’t say where it is right now but outside of the UK it holds my best memories.
Not sure how many of you got caught up in making New Year resolutions, I’ve made so many in the past that never made it to the end of week one so I only entertain the ones that are too far fetched to be taken seriously. But I have given myself a challenge, it kind of scares me a little as its something I’ve always wanted to do but don’t have the skills or size to do properly.
So here’s the hard bit, I hate to fail so while I have these thing I want to do I don’t make them know, then some idiot put editor in front of my name and suddenly I have to write the intro to Boards. Ok the first months passed relatively easily by pointing out what’s in the mag, but then someone said add some experience.
Despite what some will say I can’t just make it up so while it stared out with all good intentions I ended opening myself up for some serious piss taking from a few of my mates. Anyway that’ll out soon enough so I don’t need to start it off early here, I just hope they take the hint and help.
