Well that’s the festive season over but seeing everyone on tv is looking back at the last year I thought it was time to join them, anyway I don’t think a dozen pictures of my ear dressing being changed is going to be very entertaining. Had you told me how this year would end up I would have been happy to bet everything I had against it.
This time last year I was worried how I’d manage to write an article so ending up as editor of Boards magazine was beyond my wildest dreams but now it’s a reality I couldn’t imagine a more satisfying job, though job seems a little strong for something you enjoy.
The first couple of weeks started off a little slow with no and I was questioning my decision to stay in the uk but then the wind kicked in and everything changed. Sure I had a couple of weeks away but add the days on the water in the UK and I’m sure it’ll come to more than any other year. Don’t get me wrong I’m not knocking the traveling and don’t need to look through my passport to realize how fortunate I’ve been.
Windsurfing is more than the strength of the wind; it’s about those out there with you. If I ever get to find the perfect mix of friends and location I’ll bottle the formula, though the Nik’s stag do at the OTC center in Tenerife came close. Seeing my brother back on a board gave it that extra edge, though I’d have to say it was planning with my boy Reece that tops off my windsurfing highlights, who knows it could be Aarons time to get in the straps this year.
To be honest I could go on about last year for far too long, but rather than bore you senseless I’ve gone through my pictures from the year that I enjoyed, some have been on here already but several I held back. The only problem is there are far to many for one gallery so I’ve divided them down into two, one this week and another next.
As for what this year brings, well I’ll hold that off until next week while I get my cameras serviced.
