The Honeymoon

28/09/2009

After the wedding I wasn’t expecting to hear from Timo for a week or two, how wrong could I be. Only two day’s had passed before I got the call, “where you sailing” with the forecast predicting little more than five knots I said “nowhere”. Now before I forget, wasn’t I the photographer for Nik’s wedding last month, hell I was in trouble for not putting up a picture or two.

Just to keep me out of trouble take a look at the last two pictures and I promise there be no more mention of weddings, unless you count the honeymoon that is.

Now I’m sure Timo will make every man envois, not just because he was punching above his wait when he found his wife, but he’s found one with the tolerance to put up with his addiction.

Eighteen hours behind the wheel and we end up at the end of gods earth, or at least that’s how I felt after a solid nights drive. I don’t think you can find a better windsurfing beach further north of Lewis and Timo rates this as one of his favorites.

Now for those who follow this blog will know I think we’ve had the best summer ever, I can only think of four days of rain, that is until I head past the end of the road. So guess who didn’t consider the weather conditions, or at least nothing more than the wind strength.

To say shorts wasn’t really the go in Scotland would be an understatement as the temperature never rose above eleven degrees and what sun we did have was broken by rain showers every hour.

Now if that sounds like it’s not for you, then think again. Lewis is most certainly worth the trip, though for me this is as close to winter as I would be heading up there. The roads are lined with poles, you know the sort that look more at home lining the roads in Switzerland, I might be wrong, but this place must get snow and plenty of it. So that’s why Zani sent me on her honeymoon.
