Ending the Year
06/01/2008

We spent the penultimate day of the year in our capital. I’ve had an amazing year of travelling, but when it comes to cities, our own London takes some beating. We try to get there once a year and see a new site; this year it was the London Dungeons. Now my office is up and running, I couldn’t resist going through some of the pictures from 2007.

We visited Madam Tussauds last time we went to town, it was a real let down. Not only was it over priced, just as we thought it was starting to get going, we’d just found the exit. Standing in the long queue outside the London Dungeons, I was starting for feel that deja vu feeling.

That feeling soon disappeared as soon as we got through the door. They’ve done a great job with the Dungeons; the staff were really into playing their part. We spent a hilarious couple of hours going round; guess having a few nervous girls in the group just added to the hilarity.

We ended the day on the London Eye, fantastic views, but having seen the New Year celebrations on the TV, we’ve already decided that’s the place to be for next new year.

Drivenbywind is only a week away, the first week is almost a test week to ensure we have everything running smoothly before we start the full three month period. That said I’ve been over there today just to give the video system another test, wanted to make sure there’s nothing going to interfere with the signal.

Nik’s still laid up in hospital, so before visiting hours I was able to persuade Pam to sit at the end of the Southend peer while watched the monitor back in the van. We managed to get more than a kilometer of perfect reception more than we need.

Nik’s not had the best of times in hospital, since the neew year he’s had three more operations to clear the infection in his knee, not bad for a operation that shouldn’t have seen him out of hospital in a few hours. Maybe this time…

Now I’ve got my office back up and running, I should be able to get my updates back on track, though Sally wants me to put as much effort on the house as I’ve done in the garden. Always told her I was hopeless at diy, think doing the office myself is going to cost me more than I saved.

Put a few pix from the year together, not that you’re likely to get to the end of them, but a few reminders for me of an incredible your 2007 was. If 2008 is half as good I’ll be amazed

Happy New Year

Dave
