My Wife often accuses me of thinking about nothing else other than windsurfing. While I have to confess she may have a point occasionally, the wind doesn't control everything in my life. I've been helping a friend with a couple of projects he's bringing to market, and yes its got nothing to do with windsurfing, well almost, Jonathan and the Grange were my first paying sponsor.
We had some great years windsurfing; Jonathan and the Grange really helped me get into speed. The early years it was a closed shop, you had to have a good time to get on the starting list, but you couldn’t get a time unless you were on the list. The Grange sponsored one of the events, the only condition was I got an entry; the rest as they say was history.
He changed wind for wipes as he started The Hygiene Company, for some mad reason kept me as part of his team. The latest products are the wipe pod and the hygiene monitor.
I won’t give you the sales pitch, his websites do all that. I’ve enjoyed the process of working out the bugs for a new product, and with a few friends, like Shaun and Steve at F-hot its all starting to take off for Jonathan.
Sometime you have to be careful what you wish for, back in the early days I just wanted to travel from country to country and catch every event. That dream has certainly come true this year as it feels like I’ve not been home.
This week I finally got to sail at home, yes it was gusty, and the water was grey and choppy, but somehow nothing beats sailing with your mates. Sorry no pix, but just couldn’t sit on the side and miss that magic gust, besides Shaun and Dave just wanted to tell me how its been while I’ve been flying around, they’ve sailed more than I have the last few months.
The forecast is looking good for next week, so maybe they’re right, home is best.
